We have started to focus on the home lab side of things as of late, so here is a list of posts to check out that we wrote. If you got here without knowing/searching of “homelab” then let me introduce to you a great way to:

  • get greater home network security
  • have a more responsive network
  • establish controls and boundaries for untrusted devices (kids & iot)
  • safely host services and do multi-player games (console and pc)
  • an-abstract of whatever level of Corp network features you wish to host/learn about

We will have several sections, generally directing you towards blog posts made on this (and possibly other) site(s). Depending on area and feature I will likely summarize the post to some bit next to the link.

Router/OPNSense – The heart of any good Homelab:

No initial OPNSense setup post here yet, but the core how to install helped me get started quite well. We have several posts on how to use or further modify in certain features available on the Open Source OPNSense project. There is also a forum, two main Github projects for core and plugins, a Reddit, and someone setup a Discord if you are interested in participating.

More to come…
