Rules of Hold 'em

1. There is no ante in Hold 'em. Each hand begins when the two players to left of the dealer post a "small blind" and "big blind" respectively. The "blinds" increase throughout the tournament. The dealer rotates clockwise around the table with each new hand so all players are equally responsible for the blinds.

2. After the blinds have been posted each player is dealt 2 cards face down. There is then a round of betting starting with the player to the left of the big blind and ending with the big blind.

3. 3 cards are then dealt face up. These cards are called the "flop" and comprise the first 3 of 5 cards that make up the "board". All cards on the board are shared by all players in each hand. There is a round of betting on the flop.

4. 1 card is then dealt face up on the board. This card is called the "turn" and is followed by a round of betting.

5. 1 final card is dealt face up on the board. This card is called the "river" and is followed by a final round of betting.

6. Each player remaining in the hand then makes the best 5 card poker hand they can using any combination of the 2 cards in their hand and the 5 on the board.

Tournament specific rules:

1. There are no betting limits. However, a raise must be at least the amount of the previous bet.

2. Each player starts with 1500 tournament dollars.
